"Painted Poems" 2017-2020

In this series I celebrate the diversity, cultural richness, spiritual beliefs, and literature of the countries/cultures I’ve called home. I choose a poem, dive into the emotions the poem evokes in me, then translate it into colors creating an abstract painting. The process for my two-dimensional abstract artwork begins by producing a clay monoprint on geotextile then I mount it on a board to which I add mixed media.
